Basics of In-Hand
(Lessons 1-3)

The purpose of the videos is to provide visibility of what each stage is trying to achieve, and the Support is to help you and your horse get there.
The structure is designed to work in a logical sequentional manner, building on previous stages.

Lesson 1

  • The importance of In-Hand, and how it can help you.
  • How to hold the reins.
  • What whip to use and how to give correct and effective aids.
  • Introducing your horse to the whip.

Some horses can be worried about the whip and need help and time in understanding that it is just an aid, while others are dead to it. Learn how to use the whip more effectively, as a building block.

Lesson 2

  • Introducing Go, Stop, Rein Back.
  • Starting your training in a light controlled manor.

Fed up of being dragged to the field?

Would you like your horse to step back and wait when you enter the stable?

Does your horse have no go, or is heavy in your hand?

This lesson gives you tools to manage your day-to-day life and struggles in a safe and happy way.

Lesson 3

  • Park.
  • Little Walk, Big Walk.

Park teaches your horse to stand and wait, not to follow you and allows you to mount without your horse moving.

At at show, in your whites, you may want to quickly read over your test without your horse interfering.

How many of us struggle with a slow painful walk. Fed up of nagging? Bad dressage marks? No stretch? This is double points guys at the lower levels!

How to improve your horse’s walk, teaching a lighter aid for a better performance.
